Do you want to see what power you generate on your bicycling rides?
It's easy to display speed as an overlay as the GoPro or Insta360 cameras often record gps data.
However the problem rise, when you want to see also power, cadence or heart rate.
In this case you can generate an overlay based on your activity, not the camera footage.
Power Data Availability
If you have a power meter (or cadence sensor or heart rate sensor) connected to your bike computer, the data should be recorded in your activity. You can see it on the Strava actity or on your bike computer app on your smartphone.
In case of Strava, you should see something like this in your activity:
Similarly, cadence and a map of the entire activity can be included in your overlays, as long as the data is available in your GPX file.
How to Use GpxOverlay for Power Overlays
-
Download the GPX File:
- Download the GPX file from your activity on Strava or your bike computer's app on a smartphone. Ensure you export the file in GPX format (most of the apps allow you to export activity in GPX file).
-
Generate Overlays and Merge with your video:
- Visit GpxOverlay.com, upload your GPX file, and select the part of your activity you want to render.
- Choose power overlay and other data you want to use.
- Import the overlay into your video editor and sync it with your video.
